Over 70% of people have sleep problems

Over 70% of people have sleep problems

In the week of World Sleep Day – over 70% of people have trouble falling asleep and wake up at least once in the night.
This is shown by the data of recent studies. The research is by “Pragmatica” Agency and “iSleep”.
Approximately one in two wakes up tired too early in the morning and needs more sleep during the day.
Donna Borisova works in a call center from home. Her working hours are flexible, which often interferes with sleep. Mostly because of the night shifts.
“The time to adapt from the previous shift to the next shift is very short and I don’t have much time to finish my personal commitments. When I try to get my sleep pattern right from the night shift, it’s hard for me to really sleep and sometimes I’ve had very few hours of sleep and I’m not prepared for the next shift and I get tired faster,” she says.
“Most often, these patients are brought by their wives or girlfriends, because what usually means that a patient may have sleep apnea is snoring,” said Prof. Daniel Petkov, head of the ENT Clinic at UMBAL-Burgas , broadcasts BNT.
The disease should not be brought up because it can lead to more serious problems.
“Diseases of the cardiovascular system, strokes, heart attacks. In extremely severe forms of sleep apnea, you know that these patients usually just stand up and fall asleep. This is a very big problem, especially for professional drivers,” pointed out Prof. Petkov.
Sleep problems can be due to accumulated tension or experienced stress. Therefore, alternative methods such as yoga and meditation are used for their treatment.
“In the evening, when a person goes to bed and relaxes, he closes his eyes and begins to observe his breathing. He breathes in, becomes aware of how the air enters through the nostrils, then leaves, and let this be the main thing that occupies his mind, because when the mind focuses in something, tensions are spontaneously released,” comments Lyuba Komitova, yoga instructor and psychotherapist.
And one more tip from the experts – do not use mobile devices at least an hour before going to bed. Proven to prevent the brain from relaxing and falling asleep.
