Balance of the earthly and spiritual in a person

Balance of the earthly and spiritual in a person

I think everyone has heard about the necessary balance in a person between the earthly and the spiritual. This is already a base.
But when trying to achieve this balance, this point comes up: what your foundation is is very important.
There are earthly people who develop spiritual things.
There are spiritual people who came here to earn earthly things.
The base is what is there by default. And the extent to which this foundation is manifested, how tightly it holds, determines the power of the effort that must be made to achieve balance.
Roughly speaking, if a person is riding a bicycle and has a load hanging on one side, then he himself needs to lean more and more to the opposite side in order to have balance.
As for earthly people acquiring spirituality, in principle, everything is more or less clear. And it is for them that in 95% of cases esoteric, and even more so religious, information is intended. And this, unfortunately, greatly influences the internal attitudes of spiritual people who acquire earthly things. This throws off their bearings.
Because a spiritual person, who already has a powerful spiritual base inside, should not have a strong-willed desire for spirituality at all. He already has this desire. It won’t go anywhere and will work. And he should not renounce earthly things as something base and meaningless. Since manifestation in the earthly is his main goal and task. Not even balance. Because when you simply strive for balance, you will continue to fall on your side, like on that bicycle. You should not maintain a vertical position, but lean straight in the opposite direction.
But. Important point. At the same time, it is important for everyone not to lose their foundation and not to reduce their level of development (this would be a mistake for which they will have to pay for a long time and painfully). That is, in any case, one must always remember about the spiritual basis and adhere to its level, and not fall into materialism and temptations.
And then, through the development of the earthly, through the “hanging” of a useful load from the earthly side, the opportunity will arise to increase the useful load from the side of the base. That is, further spiritual development will go through the development of the earthly.
There are exceptions to this rule in the form of great teachers. They didn’t come here for developments anymore.
There is also an apparent exception in the form of some monks. In fact, for the most part, they have a problem not only with earthly things (which they refuse), but also with spiritual things. Because in the presence of earthly things they are not able to maintain their spirituality, which is why they abandon earthly things. This is a forced spirituality, not a basis. Like a forced healthy diet for an ulcer sufferer. He adheres to it not because he is conscious and this is his choice, but because he is absolutely not allowed to eat fried and fatty foods. So a monk is an example of an earthly person developing the spiritual, and not vice versa.
