Reminders to help you move on despite the circumstances

If you’re going through some unexpected changes, you might find it helpful to remember these six thoughts from time to time. They will help you make the necessary transition and create a sustainable transformation:
1. Don’t panic: this too will pass.
Just because you desperately want or need to change something doesn’t mean you need to go into urgency mode and try to do everything at once. Stay calm and relaxed so that you can make healthy choices rather than choices driven by anxiety and stress.
Change is inevitable; you don’t need to rush. Just be open to receiving what life throws at you and try to make the best of it.
2. It’s better to stay where you are than to move in the wrong direction.
Once you calm down and give yourself time for self-discovery, the next right step will become much clearer.
If you don’t, you’ll end up in a situation that seems different but is essentially the same. You will simply waste your precious time – time that you so want to use wisely and not waste on wrong life decisions.
3. Change doesn’t happen overnight, it happens with every little habit.
Of course, there are times when life requires drastic changes, such as leaving a job, moving to another country, or ending a long-term relationship. But the biggest changes are the ones we cultivate day by day.
Every time we decide to exercise and eat healthier, every time we choose a positive thought over a negative one, and every time we do something we enjoy even if it scares us, we shape the course of our lives.
4. Our life is a reflection of our mind; energy flows where attention is directed.
Every day we have the opportunity to make a difference. Whatever situation we find ourselves in, it is our choice and our responsibility.
The state of our lives is not the fault of our parents, the economy, or luck. The choice and responsibility for our lives and our success belong to us. It all starts with what we focus on, how we perceive things, and how those perceptions influence how we decide to act.
If we focus on our fears and worries, our actions will reflect this and we will have more to fear and worry about. If we focus on hope and possibility, our actions will reflect this and we will find more reasons to be hopeful.
5. Change means progress, and progress means happiness.
Life is essentially change. Trying to fight it is like trying to stop the seasons.
Nature is in constant transformation. And so do we. And our lives too.
If we accept change as something natural, we can begin to cultivate it positively, just like watering a seed so that it grows into a fruitful tree.
When we commit to living a progressive, ever-changing life, we feel more alive, purposeful, and proud of ourselves. We see more meaning in the experience of life.
6. Sometimes what seems like a step back can turn out to be a huge step forward.
Often what holds us back from achieving our dreams is the attachment we feel to what we already have, or rigid ideas about how things should and shouldn’t be.
It is the ability to be open and flexible to life’s circumstances that determines how much progress, success and happiness a person can experience.
Sometimes we need to take a step back if we want to move forward.
Change may not always be easy, but it is what leads us to new experiences and lessons in life.
