The subconscious is trying to tell you something important

The subconscious is trying to tell you something important

Our consciousness is all we really know. It gives us our thoughts and our perceptions of the world around us: two major components of what we consider our reality.
However, in truth, we owe our entire existence to a silent partner, our mental corporation: the unconscious. It does almost all the hard work for us, leaving our consciousness with only the illusion of control.
And we should be grateful for that. If we had to consciously control our entire being, we would never achieve anything else. In fact, we probably won’t live very long. After all, our subconscious mind makes sure we breathe at regular intervals, it pumps blood throughout our body and actually makes most of our decisions for us.
We would be lost without this constant and essential whirring of unconscious gears hidden in our hidden mind.
However, our subconscious is not completely silent; it can and does reach the conscious parts of the psyche in many ways. It is these bridges between the unconscious and the conscious that this article will explore.
1. Intuition;
We often talk about intuition as if it is some mystical force that guides us, but in most cases it is just the final act of your subconscious mind making calculations based on available information and sensory data.
When you become intuitively aware of something, you are simply interpreting a signal sent from your subconscious mind. It feels like it comes out of nowhere, but that’s only because you weren’t previously aware of the work going on beneath the surface.
Many decisions are made unconsciously and acted upon without thinking, so perhaps intuition is simply those moments when these decisions require final executive approval from the conscious part of our mind.
2. Random thoughts;
Have you ever been walking down the street and suddenly WHAM! Does the thought of first love ever cross your mind? Or perhaps you’ve suddenly found yourself wondering about the pros and cons of taking up chess as a hobby while you’re busy at work?
Our minds often chatter—sometimes purposefully, sometimes aimlessly—and every now and then a completely random thought appears, seemingly out of nowhere. When these thoughts are of an anxious nature, they are called intrusive thoughts.
Most of the time, these random thoughts will be just that – random and without consequences – but sometimes one of them will have more significance. This may reveal a hidden feeling that is somehow suppressed, or a desire to do something or see someone.
The challenge is to determine which is which; when to ignore a thought and when to pay attention to it. The key is to observe how your emotions develop when a thought arises: are you watching passively, as if you were a bystander, or is it all stimulating the senses? And then ask what that thought is trying to tell you.
3. Dreams;
When you go to bed at night, your mind (hopefully) switches off. At least the conscious part does this. You no longer think the same way you do when you’re awake, you don’t respond as much to the sensory signals your body sends to your brain, and you find yourself in a dream world.
Now dreams can be strange, bizarre and even exciting in themselves, even if your body is lying still. Your unconscious mind is where your imagination lives, and when the conscious part of your mind is switched off, your unconscious mind can spiral out of control. And this is often true.
Some dreams are just fun jaunts through fantasy worlds, while others have a tangible connection to reality. Either way, dreams can provide a glimpse into the inner workings of your mind. The type of sleep you have often reflects your underlying feelings while you’re awake.
Understanding these messages can be challenging due to the subtle differences that may exist between different storylines. So, whether you want to know what dreams about dead people mean, the meaning of tidal waves and other natural disasters, or what to do if you cheated on your partner, don’t rush to conclusions. Search online and you will find different interpretations of all possible dreams. Find one that truly suits you and your specific circumstances.
4. Body functions;
Your body is a machine of special complexity. The sheer number of functions that need to be performed at any given time makes you appreciate how powerful your subconscious mind is. You breathe, digest food, deliver oxygen and nutrients to every cell in your body, and make very precise movements – all without conscious awareness.
It’s no surprise that changes in your body’s functions may contain messages from your subconscious mind. Your gut is especially sensitive to fluctuations in your mental state, and the way it feels and the products it produces canidentify signs of an underlying emotional problem that needs to be addressed.
Our skin is another place where we can easily see the effects of our unconscious mind: blemishes, rashes and acne marks are all common symptoms of stress or irritation. Our hair, eyes and joints are other places where our problems can manifest themselves.
5. Pain;
Since ancient times, it was believed that pain is sometimes associated not with a physical, but with a mental state. For example, some people attribute knee pain to stubbornness, inflexibility, and fear. Gum problems are said to reflect your indecisiveness, while sciatica is supposedly caused by hypocrisy and/or fear of the future. Headaches and neck pain are often caused by feelings of stress, confusion and overwhelm, even when you consciously feel calm and in control of the situation.
Obviously, not all pain can be rooted in your subconscious – there are often structural problems in the muscles, nerves, bones, etc. that cause pain, but in some cases there is discomfort and irritation in the absence of any physical ailment. When this happens, the source of your physical condition may be underlying mental turmoil.
6. Fatigue/yawning;
When you feel like you’ve literally hit a brick wall, you better believe that your mind plays a big role in it. Feeling tired (even if you seem to have gotten enough sleep) are signs that something needs your attention.
We often feel tired and yawn a lot when we want to avoid drama and problems in our lives. We end up feeling mentally and emotionally exhausted to the point that any amount of rest is not enough.
Your subconscious is trying to tell you that you need to take action to solve some of your most pressing problems. In fact, it is working overtime trying to find some solutions, and this is one of the reasons why your consciousness is so limited in energy. Don’t expect your energy levels to rise again until you solve the problems.
Without our knowledge, our subconscious mind controls our lives, and we owe it to it for that. Moreover, we can take its messages and use them to help us grow mentally and spiritually by identifying the potential lessons it can teach us.
