How a child’s future is determined by the order in which he appears in the family

The competitive spirit and the desire for supremacy are among the qualities that most often accompany the relationship between brothers and/or sisters from early childhood in a family. Their growth and development inevitably goes under the sign of competition – who is better, who is more successful, who is more athletic, etc.

The experts themselves cannot agree on who is smarter, faster, taller, stronger – the bigger or the smaller. But psychologists, pediatricians and geneticists agree on one thing – birth order still affects a person.

If you are the youngest among your brothers and/or sisters

However, Business Insider magazine recently published more interesting findings that benefit the younger generation. According to them, if you are the youngest brother or sister in the family, it means that you carry a bright individuality in yourself – you can become a great entrepreneur, businessman and a person who is able to work for himself. Even if your parents never were.

A recent study by a group of psychologists found that younger children have bolder personalities. In other words, they are little rebels who are not afraid to express their position on a given issue or to bravely face the risks of starting their own business, for example.

Another quality follows from the same daring behavior – younger siblings will be more inclined to get involved in various adventures and risky activities than their fathers or khakis. Parachuting, rock climbing, mountaineering would become a favorite hobby of the younger kids in the future.

It is important that the child has his area of responsibility from an early age. Let it be something very easy to do – put away his toys, sweep the floor or feed the pet.

This will slowly teach your child to take responsibility. It’s great if you can find a group or development circle where he will be the oldest and get out of the role of “junior sergeant” under supervision.

If you are somewhere in between your siblings

You were created to help others around you. Recently, sociologists conducted a study that shows that middle children demonstrate their social qualities much more clearly. This means they are born altruists. They first think about the needs and interests of others and only then about themselves.

Middle children should never be compared to older and younger children. In general, comparing children to someone else, whether in the family or elsewhere, is a bad idea. Taking the older or younger brother as an example, you risk instilling inferiority complexes in your child. Therefore, give him an example not of others, but of himself – tell him that today he is better and more successful than yesterday. For example, yesterday he still did not know how to tie his shoelaces, but today he already knows. The middle child should have his own personal space where he will feel master. And never deprive him of your attention as a parent. It needs to feel loved and appreciated.
