THE GOLDEN MEAN

Now many people accept the idea that everything existing is God. But nevertheless they define themselves as separate from God. But if everything is unified and interdependent, how is it possible that we are separate from God? The only reason, the only obstacle to perceive ourselves as an integer whole, is our consciousness. Our conviction that we are separate (the downfall of the humankind) has been accumulated for thousands of years not only in the individual consciousness, but also in the collective consciousness of the humankind, which directly reflects to our will for a change.
Two tendencies exist in every consciousness: the first is to separation and the other is to joining and harmony. The tendency to separation is lead by the fear – it makes us expect from all the people to lie to us, to cheat us, to insult us etc. The tendency to joining is lead by love – it makes us trust people, forgive their mistakes, help each other. Here we must not forget that our thoughts and expectations are energy, which creates the reality – i.e. if we expect people to treat us bad, the majority of them really will. If we treat them good, we don’t have to expect to receive the same attitude, because people are really far from equilibrium, even those who have spiritual interests – so it is really normal that they often make mistakes. There are no people whose consciousness is only one-way, that’s why it is often said that in the biggest villain there is something human, i.e. they haven’t forgotten subconsciously that everything is a harmonic integrity.
The reality of God is based on the equilibrium and the harmony between two of God’s aspects – Father and Mother, male and female energies, electricity and magnetism. This equilibrium is supported by God’s third aspect – the Son (Christ) – the middle point between two opposites. In the “Illustrations” here I have displayed it as an equilateral triangle. This equilibrium point is not fixed, because if it was fixed, God would not be Alive. And in order that we are alive and with God, we have to strive for this point, to this equilibrium. When this strive becomes constant, a sense for equilibrium is developed (as if you learn to ride a bicycle – take notice that it is very difficult to keep the balance when you don’t move and if you succeed, it is for a very short time). This flair is called distinction, the consciousness of Christ, the mind of Christ. It gives you the possibility to make a more precise choice and orientation in the illusions. Have in mind that you can achieve this flair for balance only if you think that the two energies complete and harmonize each other, if you are convinced they are in a constant struggle, it would never come to your mind to look for the golden mean.
You have to get used to the thought that there is nothing unnecessary in this world – this is the firs step to overcoming the dual consciousness. In God everything is striving for harmony and everything completes each other, i.e. all the existing elements are created to fill up some kind of shortage and to create harmonic relations. This is why, the first thing that has to be understood is that there is nothing unnecessary, which has to be destroyed, removed or fought with or if something has become unnecessary, we have to try at any cost to save it (such tendency exists among most of the environmentalists who try to protect by all means the existing animal species. But most of them are just not adapted to the changing conditions and the equilibrium they have maintained up to this moment has to be maintained in a different way. That’s why the attempt to save the disappearing species (the naturally disappearing, not the ones destroyed by the people for any egoistic reason) – this is a typical example for the necessity to decide constantly which are the naturally disappearing ones – the blind follow of the principle to protect everything leads to disharmony and inadequacy and is an attempt to stop the evolution). The consciousness divided by God has forgotten this and has changed the existing reality according to its egoistic principles. Therefore we don’t have to eliminate, but to restore the harmonic conditions by slightly changing them in one or another direction. Exactly this attitude (to make moderate, but not drastic changes) is the beginning of the golden mean or the middle path. And one should not forget that first our attitude towards things has to be changed and everything else will gradually put into its right place.
In this sense it is good to create an attitude that even the ego and everything you consider negative and as your defects, don’t have to be completely eliminated. As I already said everything that exists is created for some purpose, so stop fighting with what you think about them. It is not necessary to fully eradicate them, it is enough to take the conscious control on them so that they don’t make you feel separate from the Whole. Don’t forget that everything has its positive and negative sides. If you constantly keep this in your consciousness, you have taken the middle path, you have started to develop the consciousness of Christ, opposite to the dual consciousness, where everything is black and white and where good should be supported and evil should be fought with.
In order to change our attitude towards things we have to fully concentrate on ourselves (you know the problem is in our own consciousness) and not to try to change the world around us and at the same time our consciousness stays the same and creates a constant separation. To change our consciousness we have to be active, i.e. we have to constantly take decisions whether each thing leads to separation or joining. If we refuse taking these decisions, our behaviour will be defined by the collective consciousness – the way the other people act and what they expect from us. This makes us inadequate for the necessary changes and we continue creating disharmony, i.e. working for the separation.
One of the ways to follow the middle path and to be active constantly is to be interested in more points of view. The conscious choice of several possibilities will always get us nearer to the golden mean that the uncompromising follow of some principle or our own conviction for infallibility and perfection. This is especially valid for the spiritual people who have embraced some idea or a doctrine.
It is very important that we constantly keep this strive of ours to the golden mean and not to expect the God’s mercy – this expectation is a separation from God, because we support the attitude that God is outside us. It would be much better that we, in the role of God, take the responsibility for ourselves. This strive for equilibrium, to the golden mean, moves us on the middle path. God is eternal movement, so don’t rest on your laurels, but always aim to surpass what you have already achieved – this is your ascending movement. The waiting for things to fall from the skies is swamping up to the neck.
To get a visual idea what the golden mean is, you have to imagine two people balancing on a board, which is attached in the center (like a scale). Every loss of balance takes you down the board and you fall from the golden mean, from the middle path, from the river of life. You stay on the beach and you watch how your life flows. When you get enough suffering you start again trying to get on the board and to keep balance, i.e. to follow the middle path. Balancing on the board resembles balancing on the surf – thus you go with the flow of the river, not against it or staying helpless on the beach (which is very painful).
In some messages it has been constantly repeated: “Do not give your power!” Which literally means – do not give to someone else your holy right of a free choice. When someone else (your ego, “benevolent” friends, the public opinion, spiritual doctrine) takes the decision instead of you or tells you what to do, you fall down from the golden mean, from the live connection with God and thus literally you disconnect or decrease manifold your energy supply – this is the real reason for your weakening, for your diseases and strongly limited abilities. Do not give in to your fear that you might make a mistake and that it is possible that someone else, more reliable or more trustful, takes the decision instead of you. It doesn’t mean you don’t have to care about other people’s opinion, it gives you the opportunity to have more points of view, more choice options. In order to constantly decide, you need to have more choice options. Only stupidity can leave you with no choice, and this is a spiritual suicide or a spiritual lethargy.
To most spiritual seekers the thought to stop comparing to the other people hasn’t even occurred. Probably some of you have somewhere read or heard that this comparison is harmful to your personal progress. It’s high time to get used to the thought that every person is unique and that’s why in this world there is no objective criteria to do an objective analysis. More or less a general comparison can be done only from the spiritual world by comparing the energy characteristics and the accumulated experience from all the reincarnations. This information is inaccessible in the material world. That’s why stop comparing to each other. As all problems come from your consciousness, it is only enough to flash to your mind that you are something more that the other people, and an abyss is gapping between you and everything else. No one from the spiritual world can afford to compare to the others, even the local Gods, who have enormous abilities and energies, don’t even think they are something more that the most deplorable and pitiful person – they know very well that this separates them from God. It is high time to become humble and not to get into contradiction with God for whom all sons and daughters are equal.
In the Bible there is an expression: “When the prince of this world comes, he must not find anything of his in you”. The prince of this world is the Antichrist. i.e. all the forces that have chosen to be separate from God and to work against harmony. This includes all the people who make some choices to be separate from God every single day. Imagine you make a protection appeal to the angels. They build around you an energy wall to protect you. When the Antichrist comes, he knocks on the wall and you immediately open a door or a window to see who is knocking. Thus you fall under the influence of the Antichrist. In this example the Antichrist knocks on your curiosity, but if you have overcome your curiosity, he will knock on your pride, on your haughtiness, on your fears, on your vanity, he will continue knocking until he finds a way to tempt you. And so on until you have some defects, the Antichrist will always trap you. You should understand, angels cannot protect you from your own stupidity, they are obliged to respect your free choice – if you decide to open a door or a window in your defense, they don’t have the right to force you not to do it. So don’t feed those qualities which lead you to separation and to the inability to reach the equilibrium of the golden mean.
I have to mention about the spiritual activity, which is very often seen and is very much like the ideological activity from the communism period. Different events have been organized with the only purpose those efforts to be noticed and to be appreciated somewhere at the higher levels of the hierarchy. Usually I call them “vanity fairs”, because they are only demonstrative and don’t lead to any internal changes, but only create a false feeling for a useful activity. Some “spiritual activists” have decided to play the role of spiritual suns and to shine for everybody – it is obvious they lack a simple distinguishing, mind of Christ, in order to estimate the expedience of their actions. However, a not very much known God’s law exists about the expedient utilization of the God’s resources. Roughly said, God, in a sense, is stingy and doesn’t waste anything for nothing – the expedience is in the foundation of harmony. There are lots of people who don’t have any chance to cope with their illusions, for many of them the time to leave this world has come. The supply with energy from the spiritual activists impedes this leaving and prolongs their agony. This very much is like trying to save the life of very sick and feeble people who live an artificial life attached to some electrical machinery for maintenance of their lives (allegedly in the name of humanism). Do you think that the violation of the God’s law for the expedient utilization of the God’s resources has no consequences, why don’t you realize that your desire to be spiritual suns originates from your vanity, from the outer idea of spirituality? Is it possible with such outer events, which don’t change anything in your consciousness, to reach the golden mean?
The other big obstacle in front of the reach of the golden mean, the middle path, the developing of the mind of Christ and the distinction of the expedience, is the clinging. Favouring some ideas, studies, religions, material purposes and acquisitions, the material comfort, life out of spite hardens you and it is absolutely impossible to reach any balance of your consciousness. In such cases you stay at the shore of the river, life flows around you and you moan in pain and depression, because the hard and still consciousness lags behind the God’s movement, from the Alive Life, and it is really painful. Will you be able to escape from these addictions, yet the time for this is not much?
You should now understand that in order to reach the golden mean, to be in synchronicity with the Alive Life, to be one with God, you should constantly change. Every day, every hour, every minute you should be ready to take decisions for something new and to abandon something old. This is the only way you can change yourself, to balance in the golden mean. It is the only way you can move forward on the spiral. If you expect the global changes to do everything instead of you, you are wasting your life. And for some it is the last chance.
