Don’t collect rubbish in your soul

Don’t collect rubbish in your soul: 8 lessons from Buddha

You have certainly heard of this great spiritual leader. “Buddha” means “awakened” or”enlightened.”
There is nothing in his teaching that contradicts the foundations of inner harmony of any other teaching, religious or philosophical. The Buddha’s lessons are universal and eternal, useful for the mind and the soul.
1. Starting small is normal. The jar is filled gradually, drop by drop. Every Master was once an amateur. If you are consistent and patient, you will be successful. No one succeeds overnight – success comes to those who are willing to start from scratch and work hard until they fill the jar.
2. Thoughts are material. Our consciousness is everything. If a person speaks or acts with bad thoughts, he will be haunted by pain. If a man speaks or acts with pure intentions, happiness will follow him. In order to live properly, you must fill your brain with “right” thoughts. Right thinking will give you everything you ask for; wrong thinking is an evil that will ultimately destroy you.
3. Excuse me. Holding back your anger is like grabbing a hot coal to throw at someone, but you will burn yourself. When you release those who are imprisoned in the prison of non-forgiveness, you release yourself from that prison. You cannot oppress anyone without oppressing yourself. Learn to forgive. Learn to forgive faster.
4. Your actions matter. In order to grow, you have to act, and in order to grow quickly, you have to act every day. As the saying goes, “God gives a worm to every bird, but does not throw it straight into the nest.” Buddha said, “I do not believe in the fate that happens to people out of nowhere when they act, but I believe in the fate that happens to them if they do not act.”
5. Try to understand. We stopped fighting for the truth and started fighting for ourselves. First try to understand and then try to understand you. You have to make every effort to understand the other person’s point of view. Listen to others, understand them, and you will find peace. Focus more on being happy than on being right.
6. Defeat yourself. Beating yourself is better than winning a thousand battles. Neither the angels nor the Demons can take this victory away from you, neither heaven nor hell. In order to defeat yourself, you must control your thoughts. They should not rage like the waves of the sea. You might think, ” I can’t control my thoughts. The thought comes when I think about it.” The Buddha said,”You cannot forbid the bird to fly over you, but you can definitely prevent it from building a nest on your head.”
7. Live in harmony. Harmony comes from within. Do not seek out what can exist only in your heart. You will find harmony only within yourself. Harmony is not a new job, a new car or a new marriage – harmony is a peace of mind that begins with yourself.
8. Be grateful. Let us be thankful that if we have not studied much, at least we have not lost much time, and if we have lost some time, at least we are not sick, and if we are sick, at least we have not died. There will always be something to thank you for. Don’t be so pessimistic that even in a moment of struggle you are unable to realize at least ten things to be grateful for. Not everyone woke up this morning – last night some of them fell asleep forever. There is always something to be grateful for.
12 Buddha’s postulates of a happy life:
Man’s greatest enemy is himself.
The greatest folly in a man’s life is a lie.
The greatest sorrow in a man’s life is envy.
The greatest mistake in a man’s life is to lose himself.
The greatest fault in a man’s life is ingratitude.
The greatest loss in a person’s life is the loss of hope.
The greatest wealth in a person’s life is health and intelligence.
The greatest gift in man’s life is generosity.
The biggest flaw in a person’s life is misunderstanding.
The greatest consolation in a man’s life is good deeds.
What is most regrettable in a person’s life is the underestimation of their dignity.
What is most admirable in a man’s life is to get up after you have fallen.
Short and wise advice from Buddha:
One of the most useful habits in life is the ability to quickly forget everything bad – not to focus on the troubles, not to live with hidden resentment, not to get drunk on your irritation, not to harbor malice. Don’t put junk in your soul.
