A powerful magnetic storm hits us on the first day of April

Astronomers report that a strong geomagnetic storm is expected to hit us on April 1-2. According to data from the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), it will be of class G2, writes Meteo Balkans.
From there they recall that magnetic storms are divided into five categories – G1 “weak”, G2 “medium”, G3 “strong”, G4 “very strong” and G5 “extremely strong”.
The cause of this storm is the ejected portion of plasma from sunspot AR3615 , which created a series of X-class eruptions . As of 20:53 UTC on March 28, astronomers at NASA’s Applied Geophysics Institute recorded a strong X-ray high-intensity X1 (R3) solar flare from sunspot AR3615.
The intensity of X-ray radiation from solar flares is denoted by the Latin letters A, B, C, M, X, with X indicating the most powerful flares.
The sunspot is at least 200,000 km across and is located around the equator of our star. Almost 8 minutes after the eruption, radiation from the eruption ionized the Earth’s upper atmosphere, causing a shortwave radio blackout over the Pacific Ocean, North and South America. Usually, the disturbances caused by it adversely affect the elderly and people with weak immunity. People who are sensitive to these phenomena may experience fatigue, headache, malaise, fluctuating blood pressure and poor concentration.
There may be disruptions to communications and navigation systems, and even internet connectivity issues in Europe, Canada and Alaska.
Geomagnetic storms are large and sudden disturbances in the values of the Earth’s magnetic field caused by its interaction with the solar wind. When an eruption is observed from one of the active regions of the Sun, a stream of plasma is released into interplanetary space, which is shot at a speed between 600 and 900 km/s.
It usually takes about two days for this flow to reach Earth. Charged particles manage to penetrate through the polar regions and cause the formation of powerful current systems around the equator and polar circles.
During geomagnetic storms, doctors advise to follow a diet with fruits and vegetables, without animal fats. Drinking more water also helps a lot. Spend a few hours outside, but don’t overdo it with the walks.
It is not recommended to consume heavy food , as well as prolonged stagnation in closed rooms without fresh air.
