Flares have begun on the Sun that can attack the Earth from the rear

spaceweather.com: The outgoing sunspot AR3559 exploded on Monday morning, January 29 at 04:38 UT, causing a powerful M6.8-class solar flare. NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory recorded an extreme ultraviolet event:

This outbreak will affect Earth in several ways.

So, for starters, the impulse has already led to a blackout of shortwave radio communications over Australia. Radio amateurs and sailors may have experienced signal loss at frequencies below 30 MHz for up to an hour after the outbreak.

Further, it will almost certainly cause a radiation storm. Sunspot AR3559 is well connected to Earth. This may seem counterintuitive since the sunspot is not directly facing us. However, when sunspots are near the western edge of the Sun, they can communicate with our planet magnetically, through the heliospheric current sheet.

This is called the Parker Spiral. The protons, energized by the flare, now follow the Parker spiral toward Earth. A radiation storm of class S1 or greater could develop within hours.

Comment from the Editors of The Big The One: In the next solar flare there is nothing terrible, of course, nothing special – the sun managed to turn around, moving the spot AR3559 towards other unfortunate planets. However, strong flares are becoming more frequent, and large groups of sunspots are not going away: AR3559 is here today, there tomorrow, and here again in a few weeks.

Gamma bursts are not going away either. The last episode was on January 25-26 with an interval of about 20 hours (23:00 – 19:00):

And now, it turns out, there is also some kind of “Parker Spiral”, which, when introduced into circulation, can now explain anything. Tomorrow the sky will turn red everywhere – and they will tell us that there was a solar flare. We will answer that how come the flash was on the other side? They will object to us: but it spread along the Parker spiral and hit the earthling brothers in the rear from the 4th dimension.

It seems that the small fry at NASA/ESA themselves do not know what surprises to expect from their brothers from distant stars and are building in advance a “scientific building” that can explain almost anything. It looks like there will be a need to explain quite soon, so we’ll keep an eye on developments.
