Ways to change your attitude towards life

Sometimes circumstances cannot be changed—at least not as quickly as we would like. We can’t get to work without traffic jams or subway crowds, we can’t change an unpleasant person or erase the past.
1. First, calm your mind.
To control thoughts, you need to learn to be aware of them. Let’s try: take a deep breath and try to free our minds from all conversations. This is how we create space for something new and unusual. We’re taking a break.
Don’t say you can’t or don’t have time. Yes, every day you have to win a small battle. But breaks are necessary: if we don’t rest, we quietly “burn out” ourselves.
You need to rest regularly: choose time to sit quietly in silence, observe yourself and understand what thoughts are spinning in your head. The most important thing is to understand where our own thoughts are and where those are imposed from the outside. Take your time – even if you don’t figure it out in one go, don’t worry. The main thing is to start.
2. Gradually but consciously give up bad thoughts
After we have learned to be aware of our thoughts and emotions, it is time to learn to consciously switch attention from one thought to another: find the thought that bothers us and replace it with an inspiring, useful one.
There are no hopeless situations – there are people who are sure that there is no way out. Don’t let dark thoughts make your whole life dark. Gradually replace bad thoughts with good ones, and reality will change over time.
Thoughts set our mood. The wildest dreams are born in our heads that can be brought to life. That is why we must carefully examine what is going on in our heads and consciously focus on what is useful. Most likely, you won’t be able to do this right away either, but gradually you get used to it.
3. Leave your worries aside for just a moment.
Inside each of us there lives another “I” who is always at peace. It appears when we put aside our worries.
Our world does not depend on external conditions. Peace can be found anywhere and at any time – it is enough to be completely and completely, physically and emotionally, where we are now.
And here it will be difficult at first. Don’t give up: take a moment in the middle of your workday or everyday hustle and bustle to feel that you simply are.
4. Say “thank you”
Maybe now we don’t have factories, newspapers, or ships, but what we have is enough for a normal life.
Be grateful for this and for what is not yet there. Each of us has millions of possibilities, but we need to understand that no one person will ever own everything or know everything in the world.
We have always been and will be only part of a larger whole and at the same time we will always remain unique. Appreciate everything you already know and everything you don’t yet understand. Appreciate the great opportunities you have.
Life will always not be exactly what we want, and we need to understand and accept this.
5. Recognize that challenges are good for you too.
Happiness, passion or success are rarely achieved without struggle. If the road is easy, we may be going the wrong way. Difficulties help us develop, even if right now we are cursing everything. Difficulties guide, correct and improve us, but this takes time, a lot of time.
Sometimes it will seem that everything is wrong, that we are marking time. But in fact, this is just part of life: sometimes you have to go through hell on the way to your dream.
They say “the night is dark before the dawn,” and it’s true: the hardest part is usually right before a miracle happens.
6. When you finish something, look back and realize where you started.
Everything ends sooner or later, and this is also important to recognize.
We must learn to close the door, turn the page and move on. It doesn’t matter which one
come up with a metaphor – it is important to leave the past in the past and enjoy the present.
The end is not really the end, but a place where everything begins again. It is the last word in one chapter and the beginning of another.
7. When everything is going wrong, turn to your body for help.
The mind depends on the body. It responds to muscle tension, breathing speed or steps. In the same way, the body is affected by thoughts and feelings, reacts to the state of the mind and even to the words we speak.
This means that one can be controlled through the other. So if everything is falling out of your hands and you can’t concentrate, be smart: use your body.
Imagine for a moment how you look from the outside when you are in a disgusting mood: your shoulders are hunched, your breathing is interrupted, you frown. Try it, sit like this right now. How do you feel?
Now do the exact opposite: sit up straight and smile, inhale and exhale deeply several times, stretch well. Now how do you feel?
Our body is a cunning tool with which you can change your attitude towards life in just a minute (it may not work for a long time, but it will help you get ready). It’s useful to know how to use it.
P.S.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it ov, which in reality will never exist. And if we allow such thoughts to settle in our heads, they will take away our most valuable things – peace, contentment, time and, ultimately, life. We will find ourselves on the verge of a nervous breakdown and slip into depression. I know, I’ve been there.
Honestly, there are a lot of things in life that we can take control of. For example, we can decide what to spend our time on, with whom to communicate, with whom to share our lives. We can choose what, how and to whom to say, what to eat for lunch, what to read and what to study. We can choose how to respond to failure.
And most importantly: we can choose how to approach life. And ultimately everything else depends on this.
