The real luxury is to live the way you feel comfortable

Luxury is not lipsticks, restaurants, or stilettos. The real luxury is to live the way you feel comfortable. In comfortable shoes. With the lipstick color you like, or without lipstick at all. To eat food that you like, to be friends with whom it is warm, to be together for love, not out of a sense of duty.

Learn to give up unnecessary things. From what has outlived itself. It’s worn out. And take care of what you like. My friend’s 5-year-old daughter has been visiting with only her spoon all her little life. She can afford the luxury of eating with the spoon she likes. Her mom is very shy, trying to justify herself every time. And I started taking my own appliances and dishes with me on picnics, because I don’t like to eat from plastic. And I don’t care what people think about it.

A luxurious life is not “because you deserve it.” It’s about the fact that this thing is worthy of you. A cup given by my sister. Dad’s T-shirt, which is so comfortable to fall asleep in. A pie according to my mother’s recipe. A kiss from a loved one. Interesting books. Good movies. Those are the songs. Fresh bed linen. A clean apartment. The life you chose for yourself.

And a luxurious life is not to devour yourself when something goes wrong. Tights can tear. The dough may not be suitable. Friends may not want to watch your favorite movie. A loved one can leave. You may not get a promotion at work. Anything can happen. If something doesn’t work out for you, it doesn’t affect your value in any way. It means that things just aren’t going the way you want them to right now.

A luxurious life is to have the opportunity to choose. Mend torn tights or buy new ones. Throw away the pie and order sushi or try to bake the pie again. Watch a movie alone or go to a cafe with friends. Let go or fight. Look for a new job or revise your goals on an old one.

A luxurious life is to live by your own rules. Go towards your goals. Don’t look for excuses. Not to be comfortable. Don’t make excuses for your choices, your dreams, your interests.
To say, “You can’t do that to me.”
And say, “I can do this.”
