An interesting way was discovered half a century ago by the famous teacher, mathematics teacher Viktor Shatalov. In general, he loved working with twos and tested all his methodological discoveries on them, of which there were many (working with reference signals, notes, mutual checks, etc. – all teachers know these techniques and actively use them).

Shatalov said: “It’s easy to teach excellent students. And you try to interest the guys that everyone has given up on!”

And those children who had never solved a single task on their own in their entire lives suddenly began to believe in their abilities and later achieved great success in their studies.

So, what is this secret?

The answer will be unexpected: Shatalov asked the children not one task, not two, but as many as a hundred! One hundred tasks at once!!!

But it is worth mentioning here … he did not require to solve all these tasks. No, he asked me to choose at least one task from all of them and solve it. Is it possible to find one task out of a hundred? And as soon as the child solved it on his own, he immediately felt a little more confident, because he had his first small success and experience.

And Shatalov did not put ratings, only checked the work.

As a result, many of Shatalov’s former students not only became excellent students, but also made a scientific career in mathematics: 62 candidates and 12 doctors of sciences! And 64 more people have become masters of sports! That’s what it means to instill self-confidence in a timely manner!

Shatalov’s main motto is: “We must believe in the child and, at the slightest opportunity, let him speak out so that the fear of evaluation, fear of alienation and condemnation does not hang over him.”

Now the innovative teacher Viktor Fedorovich Shatalov is 92 years old. According to his system, many caring teachers teach. There are even entire educational institutions working according to the methods of this outstanding teacher.
