The insults that children do not forgive their parents

The insults that children do not forgive their parents

Alas, it is our closest people who often inflict the worst insults on us.
Psychologists often say that children do not forget most of their parents ‘ insults for the rest of their lives.
But what are they most often offended by? Let’s see…
1. Inability or unwillingness to comply with the child’s opinion
The most common cause of resentment of already grown children towards their parents – inability or unwillingness to comply with the child’s opinion, disrespectful attitude, contemptuous and demeaning remarks.
“You never know what you want!”You will do as I say!“ such statements of parents the grown-up children remember for many years.
2. Injustice
Nothing “hurts” as much as an unfair judgment or decision of a loved one. Unfortunately, parents often unfairly condemn their children for their actions, even when they did not commit them. Such resentment towards parents can be stored in the mind of the adult child for the rest of his life.
3. Betrayal
What most children can never forget is the betrayal of a loved one – a parent or relative.
The disclosure of the child’s innermost secrets to other people, preference of other people’s interests over his – such actions of a close adult person have a strong negative impact on the child and his attitude towards his own parents.
4. Indifference
“Do what you want, I don’t care” – such a parental attitude offends children no less than constant prohibitions and punishments. The indifferent, dismissive attitude of parents towards their own child can be the cause of severe psychological trauma that will leave an imprint on his whole future life.
5. Comparison with other children
Parents hurt their children’s psyche most by comparing them to their brothers, sisters or friends. Especially if the comparison is not in favor of the child, whose qualities are compared, writes “objects”.
6. The lie
Very often parents mislead their children with the best of intentions – to hide from them some unpleasant and sad facts or to protect them from traumatic events or extremely disturbing information.
However, such a lie, even with the best intentions, can subsequently become a cause of serious resentment of the child towards the parents.
7. “I don’t believe in you!“
Quite often parents, even those who love their children very much, make a huge mistake by constantly demonstrating that they do not believe in the possibilities of their child.
“Leave it, I’ll do better!”, “You always get nothing!”Who needs a jerk like you?””such statements of parents can forever remain in the child’s mind, as well as seriously affect his development and even prevent him from achieving success.
The reasons a child feels abusive towards their parents can be many.
Some of the insults are forgotten very quickly, leaving no trace. But some of them are remembered for a very long time, even quite possibly to the end of life.
And they can become the cause of constant conflicts between parents and children. Therefore, it is very important for parents to try to predict how their actions, emotions and words, or lack thereof, could have a serious impact on the child’s life and cause him to feel resentful towards them for many years.
